Lavender Cottage
Lavender Cottage is in Keswick. It's semi-detached, the left-hand side of the pair. You can walk into town in about five minutes, it's flat all the way. The edge of Derwentwater is about ten minutes on foot.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a double and one with twins. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are steep. There's also a low ceiling at the top of the stairs, so mind your head. The kitchen and living area are open plan, which is good if you've got kids with you.
There's a small patio garden out the back. Parking is on the street, you usually find a space nearby. We provide bedding, a cot, and a highchair. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
The town centre is close. There's a good pub about 180 yards away that does food, and a shop slightly closer. Keswick has all the usual outdoor shops, pubs, cafes, and a market.
For walking, you're right in it. Latrigg and Catbells are practically on the doorstep. Skiddaw, Blencathra, and Helvellyn are all within a 30-minute drive. For a day out, the National Trust Borrowdale and Derwentwater page has good information. The Lake District National Park site is useful for planning routes and checking weather.
