Helvellyn House Apartment
This is Helvellyn House Apartment in Keswick. It’s the ground floor flat of what used to be one house, so there’s another apartment above. The main thing is, it’s a level five-minute walk into the centre of Keswick, and it comes with a private parking space. Finding a parking space in Keswick is normally a real hassle, so having your own is a big plus.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. The sofas are leather and the windows are all double glazed.
You’re right on the edge of town. Fitz Park is just down the road, which is handy. For a walk, you can be on the footpaths around Derwentwater or up into the fells without getting in the car.
Within about half an hour's drive you’ve got places like Castlerigg Stone Circle, which is just outside Keswick, and the Honister Slate Mine. A bit further gets you to the beaches at St Bees or up to the quieter northern lakes like Bassenthwaite.
In terms of what’s here: all the utilities are included, there’s WiFi, a TV with a DVD player, and a cot if you need one. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s a shower over the bath. No pets, I’m afraid.
A couple of useful sites if you’re planning outings: National Trust Lake District and Lake District National Park.
