Brackendale Cottage
Brackendale Cottage is in Scales, Cumbria. It's on a working beef and sheep farm, one of six cottages there. The back of the cottage looks right up at Blencathra.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. A double and a room with full-sized bunk beds. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a showhome. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep.
Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and living area all in one room. It works.
Outside, there's a private patio and a lawn across from the front door. It gets the sun.
The local pub is about three-quarters of a mile away. Threlkeld village is just over a mile, it's got a couple of good places to eat. Keswick is about five miles by car. That's where you'll find most of the shops, pubs, and the boating on Derwentwater. Keswick Golf Course is less than a mile away.
For walking, you can go straight from the cottage onto the fells. Blencathra is right there, but that's a proper mountain day. Easier walks like Latrigg are a short drive away.
Facilities: There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. No pets, sorry, because of the farm.
