Bishop View
Bishop View is a first floor apartment in an old building in Thornthwaite. That's just outside Keswick. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The view is the main thing. Your living room looks straight out across the valley towards Skiddaw. It's good. There's a small balcony off to the side as well. The building used to be a coaching inn a long time ago, but it was converted into apartments and cottages.
The garden has a pond. It attracts frogs and newts, and you'll see a lot of birds. Deer and red squirrels come through sometimes. There are ospreys nesting very close by, so you might see them flying over.
You're right on the edge of Whinlatter Forest. Lords Seat is right behind you. You can walk or go mountain biking straight from the door.
Bassenthwaite Lake is a few minutes away by car. Keswick is about a ten minute drive. It's got all the shops and places to eat you'd need. For a bigger day out, you're not far from places like Buttermere or Borrowdale.
You can bring one dog. There's parking here. The apartment has wifi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot if you need one.
For planning walks or visits, Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District are useful.
