Jane Eyre Cottage is in Keswick. It feels a bit tucked away, but it's only a five minute walk into the middle of town through Fitz Park. You're right next to the River Greta, which is nice to listen to.
The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means everything is well looked after and comfortable. It's modern inside, but with the feel of an older cottage.
The garden is big, with a patio. You can park right there. There's room for bikes if you bring them.
Keswick has everything you need: pubs, restaurants, shops. It's all walkable. The Theatre by the Lake is a pleasant walk by the water. The Derwent Pencil Museum and the Puzzling Place are short walks away, good if it rains.
For getting out, you couldn't really be in a better spot. Derwentwater is a few minutes by car or a twenty minute walk. The fells are right there. You can start a walk up Skiddaw from town. Or you can just do a gentle stroll along the river.
Facilities: Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. It's mostly all on one level with a step at the front, so it might work if someone has limited mobility. You can bring two dogs.
Helpful links: Lake District National Park for planning walks and National Trust Lake District for their local places. You'll need to book parking for some NT spots.
