Bransty

Bransty is a lodge on Burnside Park, just outside Keswick. It's a ten minute walk to the town centre from here.

It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's a modern lodge, so the rooms feel quite light and spacious compared to some older ones. The bathroom has a full-sized bath with a shower over it, which is handy.

There's a private deck with a table and chairs. It looks out over a stream and you can see Skiddaw from it. You can hear the water running, which is nice.

It's detached and has its own parking space right outside. The entrance is step-free and all on one level inside, so it's suitable if you have mobility issues. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.

You can bring up to two dogs. The park is in the Lake District National Park, so you're straight into walking country.

There's a pub and restaurant about a quarter of a mile away. The town centre has all the usual shops, pubs, and places to eat. It’s a good base.

For planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District. Derwentwater is a 15 minute walk. You can drive to Ullswater in about 20 minutes, or to Borrowdale in maybe 15.
