Blencathra House

Blencathra House is a semi-detached stone house in Keswick. It's about a two-minute walk into the town centre, which is handy. You can see the fells from most of the windows.

It sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. There's a proper wood-burning stove in the living room for the colder months.

The garden is paved, with a table and chairs. You can sit out there with a cup of coffee in the morning.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a cot if you need one.

You're right on the edge of Fitz Park, which is good for a stroll. The River Greta runs through it. The town has all the usual shops, pubs, and cafes. You don't really need the car once you're here.

For walking, you can start right from the door. Latrigg is a popular, easier fell with great views over Derwentwater. For a bigger challenge, Skiddaw or Blencathra itself are a short drive away. Derwentwater is about a fifteen-minute walk down to the marina.

If you want to explore further, Borrowdale and Buttermere are both within a twenty-minute drive. The Lake District National Park website is good for planning. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here too.

No pets, I'm afraid.
