The Fells is our place in Keswick. We go there a lot ourselves. It's not a show home, it's just comfortable.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and has everything you need.
The location is the main thing. You're up a quiet lane, so you get a clear view over the town and out to the fells. But you can walk into the centre of Keswick in a few minutes. The lane is narrow. At the end of it, about fifty metres down, there's a footbridge over the River Greta straight into Fitz Park. It's very handy.
There's a small front garden and a back garden with a place to sit. Good for a dog or just a bit of sun. We can take one well-behaved pet.
Inside, the living room has an electric flame-effect fire for cosy evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot in the cupboard if you need it.
You're two hundred yards from a shop, a pub, and places to eat. For walking, you're right on the edge of town. You can be on the fells very quickly. Derwentwater is about a fifteen minute walk.
If you want to drive out, Borrowdale and Buttermere are within half an hour. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land. The Lake District National Park site has good information for visitors.
