Skiddaw
This is Skiddaw. It's a shepherd's hut on our farm in Millbeck. It's for two people.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean and has what you need, but it's simple. It's one room with a double bed, a small kitchen area, and a shower room. The kitchen has a two-ring hob, a fridge, and a microwave. It's all compact, so it's fine for making breakfast or a simple meal.
The main thing is the view. You get a big picture window looking out over the fields towards Catbells and Latrigg. You can see a bit of Derwentwater in the distance. You have your own bit of patio outside the door with a table and chairs.
It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep. There are red squirrels around too. The stairs up to Skiddaw itself are quite steep, just so you know.
Keswick is about two miles away. That's where the shops and most of the pubs and restaurants are. The nearest pub is about a mile and three quarters down the lane. It's a nice walk if you don't mind the hill on the way back.
If you want to get out, Derwentwater is close for walks or hiring a boat. You're right on the edge of the fells for hiking. The Lakes Distillery and the Wildlife Park are over at Bassenthwaite, about a fifteen minute drive.
Facilities: bed linen and towels are included, there's a TV, parking right next to the hut, and the patio area. No pets, sorry.
