Bay Tree
Bay Tree is an apartment right in Keswick. It's above the shops on the main road. You can walk to everything from here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Completely refurbished. Leather sofas, proper beds, decent furniture. It’s got a modern heating system too, which makes a difference. The rating is 3 Star, which basically means it's smart and clean but there's no concierge.
Because you're on the first floor on a main road, you do hear some street noise. The windows are double glazed and it's quiet at night, but it's not silent rural. Just so you know.
You get one parking space in a private yard out the back. That's a big deal in Keswick. You can leave your car there and forget about it for the week.
Everything you'd need is out the front door. Supermarkets, pubs, places to eat, outdoor shops. The theatre's just down the road. It's a five-minute walk to the park and the edge of Derwentwater.
For walks, you can head straight out from the door or drive a few minutes to a trailhead. Cat Bells is a classic. The Lake District National Park site is good for planning routes. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here too.
Facilities: bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. I've left a cot in the cupboard if you need it.
