This is Tommy's Cottage in Keswick. It's a Lakeland stone cottage, about a five minute walk from the town centre. It's flat, so easy to walk back with shopping.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. One bedroom with its own bathroom is on the ground floor. The stairs are normal cottage stairs.
The place was refurbished properly and we got some advice on the interiors. So it's well put together and comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Out the back there's an enclosed courtyard. It's a sun trap, faces south. Good for sitting out with a drink.
Keswick is right there for shops, pubs, and the lake. For walking, you're in the northern fells. Skiddaw is practically on the doorstep. Derwentwater is a ten minute walk.
Within half an hour you can drive to places like Grasmere, Buttermere, or up to the Honister Pass. Further afield, you're looking at an hour to get to the west coast or Penrith.
It has the usual things: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
