Baree is a two-bedroom cottage in Keswick. It’s on a normal residential street, about a five minute flat walk into the town centre. You’re not out in the countryside, you’re on a street with other houses. That’s perfect if you want to pop into town easily.
It sleeps four people. Two decent sized bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s well-equipped and comfortable. We’ve recently redecorated it.
The main thing to know is the ceiling. At the top of the stairs, the ceiling is quite low. You’ll need to mind your head. We’ve put a sign up as a reminder.
Outside there’s a small enclosed yard with a table and chairs. It’s not a big garden, but it’s private and gets the sun in the evening. It’s fine for dogs. You can bring up to two pets.
Location is the main draw. You can walk into Keswick in five minutes for shops, pubs, and restaurants. From the cottage, it’s about a ten minute stroll down to the edge of Derwentwater and the start of the old railway path, which is a nice flat walk.
Parking is on the street outside the cottage. It’s usually fine, but it’s not a private driveway. There’s also a bus stop two streets away if you need it.
For facilities, you’ve got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you let us know.
From here, you’re right in the northern Lakes. You can drive to Borrowdale or up to the Whinlatter forest in about ten minutes. Ullswater is about a twenty minute drive. If you’re planning walks or trips, it’s worth looking at the Lake District National Park website and maybe the National Trust Lake District page for their places.
