Rowan House

Rowan House is in Threlkeld, right at the bottom of Blencathra. It's an end-of-terrace cottage, and we live next door in the other part of the building. You get your own bit completely.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the doubles has its own shower room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are normal.

Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. We leave some logs to get you started. The kitchen has what you need, and there's a separate dining room. Out the back door is a patio with a table and chairs, and your own parking space.

You're in the village. There are two pubs that do food, both about a two-minute walk. The shop is in Keswick, about five miles away.

For walking, you're set. You can step out the door and be on the slopes of Blencathra straight away, or it's a good base for the northern fells. Keswick is five miles east for shops and the lake. The stone circle at Castlerigg is on the way in and worth a stop. Threlkeld has its own quarry and mining museum just up the road if you're interested in that sort of thing.

Included: all bedding and towels, WiFi, the parking space, the cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
