The Garth is one of the barns on our farm in Mungrisdale. It’s a proper old building so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. You get good views of Blencathra from the kitchen window.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have their own shower rooms. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor, which is handy if stairs are a problem.
The farm is working, so you’ll see sheep in the fields most of the year. We’ve also got a few alpacas and donkeys. You can walk straight from the door onto the fells, or just sit in the garden and watch.
Keswick is about fifteen minutes by car. It’s got the usual shops and plenty of places to eat. Derwentwater is there too, and you can get the launch boat across it if you don’t fancy walking back. Ullswater is a bit further south, maybe twenty-five minutes.
Inside, there’s a games room with a pool table. Everything like bedding and towels is included. We can take one well-behaved dog. There’s parking right outside.
