The Garth
The Garth is a barn we converted on our farm. It's about two miles from Mungrisdale village. It's a listed building, so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. You can see Blencathra out of the front.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and has its own shower room, which is handy. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable.
The stairs up to the other bedrooms are fairly steep, just so you know.
You'll see our sheep and some alpacas and donkeys in the fields around the cottages. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for a dog or children.
You can walk straight from the door onto the fells. The lanes around here are quiet for cycling. Keswick is about eight miles away. It's got all the shops and places to eat you'd need, plus a leisure centre. You can walk around Derwentwater or get the launch boat.
Ullswater and Thirlmere aren't far by car, maybe twenty minutes. Keswick golf course is very close, about a mile and a half.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a games room. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside.
You can book the cottage next door, Blencathra, as well if you're a bigger group.
