Lowther is a stone cottage in Matterdale End, up the hill from Ullswater. It's one of two barn conversions around a little cobbled yard. The view from the front is good, straight across the valley to the fells.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean. You can bring up to two dogs.
The cottage is right on the Cumbrian Way. You can walk straight out the door onto the fells. Ullswater is down the road for boating. The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away in Dockray.
You're well placed for the northern lakes. Aira Force waterfall is a short drive. Penrith is about fifteen minutes by car for shops. Lowther Castle's gardens and the Rheged Centre are out that way too.
For a day out, you can get to Keswick, or up to Hadrian's Wall, in under half an hour.
Facilities: Parking right there, bedding and towels are included, there's a cot and a highchair. The electricity is included in the price.
