Lowther

This cottage is called Lowther. It's in Matterdale End, which is near Ullswater in Cumbria. It's a stone barn conversion on a single-track lane, part of a small group around a cobbled yard.

It sleeps four people in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. The views from up here are very good, looking across the valley.

You can walk straight out onto the fells. The Cumbrian Way footpath is right there. Ullswater lake is a few miles away for boat trips or sailing.

There's no Wi-Fi. It's a quiet spot. You can drive to a pub for food, about two and a half miles.

If you're looking for days out, Aira Force waterfall is nearby. Penrith is the main town, about seven miles. You're well placed for the northern Lakes and also for the Eden Valley. Hadrian's Wall is under an hour's drive.

Facilities included are: parking, bedding and towels, a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
