High Birch Close
High Birch Close is a farmhouse in Thackthwaite. It's detached, so you won't have neighbours through the wall. The garden is big, nearly an acre. It's mostly lawn with some woodland at the back.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Inside, it's an old building. There are flagstone floors and open fireplaces. We've got a woodburning stove in one of them. The stairs are typical for a place like this: a bit steep and the treads aren't even.
You're in Matterdale, between Keswick and Penrith. Ullswater is about a ten minute drive. The M6 junction is close, so it's easy to get to, but once you're here it feels properly remote.
Keswick is maybe twenty minutes away for shops and things. Penrith is about the same, the other way. For a good walk straight from the door, you can get up onto the fells behind the house.
In terms of what's here: there's parking for a couple of cars. The garden has a patio and a BBQ. Inside there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. We can't take pets, sorry.
