High Birch Close
High Birch Close is a detached farmhouse in Thackthwaite, Cumbria. It's just outside Matterdale, about halfway between Keswick and Penrith.
The house sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy for a group. It's got a 4 Star rating, which matches up. It's comfortable and well looked after.
The garden is big, just under an acre. There's a lawn and a bit of woodland area. You get views out over the fields and the fells from the back.
Inside, it's an old building so there are flagstone floors in places and the ceilings are low in some rooms. The stairs are steep. You can light a fire in the living room if you want.
For getting around, it's about ten minutes to the M6 junction. Ullswater is ten minutes in the other direction. You can drive into Keswick in fifteen minutes or Penrith in twenty.
The facilities are what you'd expect: parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding is included. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
