Stone Barn is one of the cottages at Barton Hall Farm, just outside Pooley Bridge. It's a working farm, so you'll see the sheep and hear the tractors. The cottage itself was converted from an old stone barn. It's got those original beams, which are nice but you do have to mind your head in a couple of spots.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a wood burner for colder nights and the kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. The layout is open plan downstairs.
You've got your own patio with a barbecue. The garden is shared with the other cottages. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. We take up to two dogs. Parking is right there.
The village of Pooley Bridge is about half a mile down the lane. There's a couple of shops and pubs there that do food. For a bigger shop, Penrith is about five miles away.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District here. Ullswater is just minutes away. You can walk to the shore. The steamer boats run up and down the lake, which is a good way to see it. For walking, the High Street range of fells is very close. Helvellyn is about ten miles if you want a bigger challenge.
Keswick is around fourteen miles further into the lakes. If you're here in winter, we put up Christmas decorations.
