Stone Barn
Stone Barn is on our farm just outside Pooley Bridge. It's one of a few cottages here. You're out in the fields but it's only five minutes to walk down to the village.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm, solid, and clean. The beams are low in a couple of places, just watch your head.
The kitchen is open plan with the living area. There's a wood burner. We provide the logs. The patio looks out over the yard and fields. You can bring two dogs.
Pooley Bridge has a couple of shops, a cafe, and several pubs. They all do food. The lake is right there. You can hire boats, go for a walk along the shore, or get on the steamer. The fells start almost from the back door.
Penrith is about ten minutes by car for a big supermarket. Keswick is maybe half an hour. You can be at the foot of Helvellyn in about twenty minutes if you want a proper hill day.
For facilities: it's got the wood burner, parking, a garden with a BBQ, WiFi, a washing machine, and we can provide a cot and highchair. It's a working farm, so you'll see us and the animals about.
