Kaptains Cabin
This is Kaptain's Cabin, in Glen Dowlin in Cumbria. It’s a detached wooden lodge, Scandinavian style, on a decent sized plot near the top of the site. It looks out over the fields towards the hills.
It's a 3 Star property, so comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. It sleeps four in three bedrooms. There are two shower rooms. Everything is on one level.
The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining and living area all together. It's a good space if you're with family or friends. There's a TV and the WiFi is very good, full fibre.
You've got a decked area right outside the doors with a table and chairs. The rear garden has a picnic bench that looks out over the view. It's a proper spot for a coffee in the morning. The lawns front and back are yours to use.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. The pub does food.
For getting out, you're well placed for the northern Lakes. Penrith and the Rheged Centre are a short drive. The Aira Force waterfall and the Ullswater steamers are nearby too. Keswick is about half an hour's drive. So is Carlisle, if you fancy the city or the castle.
You're also not far from Hadrian's Wall. The Eden Valley and the Northern Pennines are on your doorstep for walking.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, parking right outside, and bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
