Kaptain’s Cabin is a lodge in Glen Dowlin, Cumbria. It's on its own, not stuck to another one, at the top of a small site. You get the whole plot.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs up to one of the bedrooms are quite steep, like a ship's ladder. You need to watch your head up there.
The main room is all open plan. There's a kitchen, a dining area, and the living space all together. It works for a family. Big doors open out onto a deck with a table and chairs.
The best bit is the garden at the back. There's a picnic bench that looks out over the fields to the hills. It's a good spot for a drink in the evening.
You're about a mile from a shop and a pub. The pub does food. For a bigger shop, Penrith is about a ten minute drive. It's a proper market town.
You're well placed for the quieter, northern part of the Lakes. Aira Force waterfall is about fifteen minutes away. For a boat trip, the Ullswater steamers leave from nearby. Keswick is about half an hour's drive. So is Carlisle, if you want a city day. Hadrian's Wall is within easy reach too.
It's got what you'd need: parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
