Mill Barn

Mill Barn is in Askham. It's a barn conversion, so it's got the original beams and that. It's just one bedroom, sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating.

It used to be part of the village mill. You get to it off a 50 metre track from our place. The track's a bit rough, so take it easy. The Lowther river runs right past the bottom of the garden. You can fish there from the property.

You can walk straight from the door into the fells. If you'd rather drive, it's a good spot to get to a lot of places. Ullswater is about 15 minutes. Windermere and Penrith are maybe 20-25 minutes.

There's a shop and a pub in the village, about a kilometre away. They're both fine. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking.

Now, about the stairs. They're steep, narrow, cottage stairs. They're open tread too, so just be aware. We allow one well-behaved dog.
