Mill Barn

Mill Barn is in Askham. It's on the edge of the village, next to the river Lowther. It used to be part of an old mill. You get to it down a 50 metre track from the main road, past our house.

It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. One well behaved dog is allowed.

The main thing is the location. You walk straight out the door onto the fells. The river runs right past the garden. You can fish there if you have a licence. The views from the windows are of the river and the fields.

Inside, it's open plan. There are original beams, so watch your head if you're tall. It's got a wood burner for colder evenings. All the bedding and towels are included.

Facilities are what you'd need: a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's parking right outside.

Askham village has a shop and couple of pubs, about a ten minute walk away. They're good.

You're right in the Lake District National Park. Ullswater is about a 15 minute drive. Penrith is 15 minutes the other way for supermarkets. Windermere is maybe 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
