Riverbank Cottage
Riverbank Cottage is on our farm. It's detached, brick-built, more of a bungalow really. Everything is on one level which is handy.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, each with its own shower room. That's useful, no queueing. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and well kept, newish inside. You get the place to yourselves, it's not attached to anything.
The cottage is right by the River Eamont. You can hear it from the garden. The garden is private, with a patio. You look out over our fields. It's quiet, but you're only a quarter of a mile from Pooley Bridge. That's a five minute walk. There are a couple of shops, cafes, and pubs there that do food. The Ullswater steamers leave from there too.
You're on the edge of the lake district. Ullswater is about half a mile down the lane. The fells start almost straight away. Place Fell and the High Street range are right there if you want to walk. Helvellyn isn't far for a bigger day out.
For facilities: there's parking right outside. Washing machine, towels and bedding are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings, and bike storage. We're a working farm, so there are animals about. Sorry, no pets.
