Chapel Cottage

This is Chapel Cottage in Helton, Cumbria. It's an old cottage, 18th century, and it's detached so you've got your own space. The main thing is the view. You get a proper panoramic one over the fields and fells from the back.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We keep it clean and comfortable. It's got a woodburning stove which is good for chilly evenings.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have dogs or kids. We get a lot of birds on the feeder, and red squirrels sometimes come through. You can just walk out the door and onto the fells. The paths start right there.

Askham village is about a mile down the road. It has a couple of nice pubs and a shop for basics. For a bigger shop, Penrith is ten minutes away by car.

You're well placed for the lakes. Ullswater and Haweswater are both close. You can get on the Ullswater Steamers from there. Aira Force waterfall is worth a visit. For a historical day out, Lowther Castle and its gardens are nearby.

Inside, it's got what you'd need: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Parking for two cars right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs.
