Bumblebee Nook is a terraced cottage next to our house in Yanwath. It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The cottage looks out over fields towards Blencathra. It's south east facing, so you get the sun at the front for most of the day. There's a small terrace out the back, up nine steps, with a view of the Pennines.
Inside, we've tried to keep the old character but make it comfortable. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep.
You're about five minutes in the car from Penrith. Ullswater is less than ten minutes away. The bus stops at the end of the lane if you don't want to drive.
For walking, you can start right from the front door along the River Eamont. You'll pass Mayburgh Henge and King Arthur's Round Table. The High Street fells are about five miles, and Helvellyn is ten miles. For a day out, you can get the Ullswater Steamers from Glenridding.
Penrith has shops, restaurants, and a small cinema. Keswick is under half an hour's drive. You can find more information on the area from the Lake District National Park website.
Facilities include a dishwasher, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's no shower, just a bath. No pets, sorry. There's a pub that does food about half a mile away.
