The Garth
The Garth is a detached house in Penrith. It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it renovated a few years ago, so everything works and feels fresh. The layout is a bit different. Three bedrooms are upstairs, including a twin. The fourth bedroom is on the ground floor, also twin beds. There's a wet room down there too, which is handy.
The stairs are normal. The doors are standard width. There is a step up into the entrance hall. The garden has two small ponds, so you'll need to keep an eye on small children or pets around them.
It's about a ten minute walk into Penrith town centre. There are pubs, shops, places to eat. A big supermarket is about a mile away. You can walk to the train station in about twenty minutes.
The house is light because it's detached with windows on all sides. It's got a driveway with parking. The garden has a patio and looks out towards the fells.
Penrith is right on the edge of the Lake District. You can be at Ullswater in under twenty minutes by car. The Rheged Centre is about five miles away, they've got a cinema and a play area for kids. Lowther Castle is nearby too.
For days out, the Lake District National Park has all the walking information. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local sites.
In the house you'll find a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's wifi and a TV. No pets.
