It's Smithy Cottage, up in Stainton. Cumbria. It's old, from the 1700s I think. We've redone it inside but kept the feel. You get the main bit of the cottage and your own garden out the back.
Sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable, you’ve got what you need. The wood burner in the big fireplace works well. Stairs are a bit steep, but that’s just how it is in these old places.
The pub is two minutes up the road. They do food. You can walk to the Rheged Centre from here if you want. For shops, Penrith is about ten minutes in the car.
You're in a good spot for the northern Lakes. Ullswater and Pooley Bridge are only a few miles away. You can walk there, or get a steamer on the lake. Keswick isn't far either, maybe twenty minutes. There’s walking and cycling everywhere, right from the door.
For facilities, you’ve got WiFi, a washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring two dogs.
