Sharrow Cottage is in Watermillock. It's up the hill a bit, so you get a good view of Ullswater and the fields. It sleeps six, three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, but not modern.
The main thing is the view. You can see the lake from the front. Ullswater's the second biggest lake here. Aira Force waterfall is about halfway along the shore between Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. You can walk to it, or drive.
You can walk from the door. There's woodland and river paths. For a bigger walk, the Ullswater Way goes all the way around the lake. It's about eleven miles. If you want the mountains, Helvellyn and the High Street range are right there.
It's about a fifteen minute walk down to the steamer jetty at Howtown. You can get the boat from there to Pooley Bridge or Glenridding. Saves parking.
Keswick is about twenty minutes by car. Windermere is maybe forty. You're right in the middle of it here.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. The garden is a patio area. One well-behaved dog is allowed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the cottage itself isn't all on one level.
