Haweswater Cottage

This is Haweswater Cottage. It's in Burnbanks, which is remote. You're on the edge of a working farm.

It sleeps eight people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, but it's not a show home. It's detached.

The location is for people who want to be outdoors. You can walk straight out of the door and onto the fells. Haweswater is right there for a walk around. High Street and Bampton Common are easy to get to from here.

The roads around here are quieter than the main Lakes, so some cyclists prefer it. They are still narrow country lanes though, so you need to be careful. There are off-road tracks for mountain biking as well.

The cottage is all on one level with a level entrance, so it's suitable for someone with limited mobility.

There's a woodburning stove for the evenings. WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding is included. You can bring one dog.

For good days out, Shap Abbey is close, and you can get to Penrith, Ullswater, or Kendal within half an hour. Useful links: Lake District National Park and English Heritage for Shap Abbey.
