The Oaks
The Oaks is in Great Strickland. It’s a new, detached lodge, so it’s good and private. The main living area is all one space, with big doors out to the patio. It gets a lot of light.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all king size. One bedroom can be split into two singles if you need it. There’s one main bathroom and the master has its own ensuite shower room.
There’s a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there’s a washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair. You can park right next to the lodge.
We take up to two dogs. There’s a fully enclosed garden, so they should be fine out there.
The village pub is about a hundred yards away. They do food. Penrith is five miles for bigger shops and things.
You’re right on the edge of the Lake District. It’s about two miles to the National Park boundary. Ullswater is six miles away. The M6 is close if you’re coming from far away, but the local lanes are quiet for walking or cycling.
