Conn Cottage is in Bampton, Cumbria. It's a detached stone cottage, just off the road. There's a stream right next to it that used to power the old corn mill. The view from the back is over that.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That’s handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been recently done up. It was fully renovated in 2021. The kitchen is new, with all the appliances. Patio doors open onto the garden where there's a hot tub.
Bampton is a small hamlet. It's quiet. You'll often see red squirrels and deer. There's a village shop with a post office and a tearoom about a five-minute walk away. There's also a pub in Bampton Grange, which is a gentle stroll. Other good pubs are a short drive away in Askham, Tirril, and Shap.
The nearest lake is Haweswater, about two miles. Ullswater is a ten-minute drive. You can walk to the fells from the door. Hallin Fell and Place Fell are good, straightforward ones. For a longer day, Mardale Head at Haweswater is dramatic.
You're well placed for heading elsewhere. Penrith is seven miles for supermarkets. The M6 is about ten minutes away. The Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale, and Hadrian's Wall are all within a 30-minute drive.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. The driveway has parking for two cars. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
