Conn Cottage

Conn Cottage is in Bampton. It's a small hamlet, very quiet. The cottage looks out over a stream that used to power the old corn mill next door. It's stone built, like most round here.

We finished a full renovation in 2021. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high spec. Everything's new and works properly. The kitchen has all the integrated appliances and the patio doors open straight out to the garden. There's a hot tub out there.

The stairs are fine. The doorways and one entrance are wheelchair accessible, but it's not a fully adapted property. Just so you know.

Bampton has a village shop with a post office and a tearoom. There's a children's playground. The nearest pub is a gentle walk away in Bampton Grange. There are other good food pubs a short drive off in Askham and Tirril.

You're in the Lowther Valley. It's a quiet bit of the Lakes. You'll see red squirrels if you're lucky. For walking, you can start right from the door onto the fells. Haweswater and Ullswater are the nearest lakes. Hallin Fell and Place Fell are popular. You can get on the water with Ullswater Steamers, or visit Aira Force waterfall.

Penrith is about seven miles for bigger shops. The M6 is a ten minute drive, so it's easy to get to the Yorkshire Dales or over towards Hadrian's Wall if you want a day out.

The cottage has a woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
