Fell Croft

Fell Croft is in Pooley Bridge, right at the top end of Ullswater. It’s a cul-de-sac, so it’s off the main village lane. You can walk down to the pubs and the bridge in five minutes. There’s parking for two cars off the road.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. It has a 3 Star VisitEngland rating. That means it’s comfortable, but not luxury. It’s just a standard house.

Downstairs, there’s a wood burning stove in the living room. We leave you some logs to get started. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There’s a patio garden out the back with a table.

All the bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair in the cupboard under the stairs if you need them. Sorry, no pets.

From the house, you can walk straight down to the lake shore. Pooley Bridge has a couple of pubs that do food, a tea room, and a small shop. For a bigger shop, you’d drive to Penrith, which is about ten minutes away.

Ullswater is good for sailing or hiring a canoe. You can get the steamer from the pier, it goes up to Glenridding. The walk up to Aira Force waterfall is popular, it’s about ten minutes by car. For a big walk, you can start the Helvellyn ridge from there too.

Dalemain house and gardens is just outside the village. Keswick is about half an hour’s drive. The M6 is close if you need to get on it, about five miles.
