Mill Moor
It's called Mill Moor. It's a converted farm building on Barton Hall Farm, just outside Pooley Bridge. You're in the country here, on a working farm.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The conversion kept a lot of the original features. There are old pitch pine beams running through the rooms and a lot of local slate and sandstone. It's got a wood-burning stove.
The farm is a couple of minutes' drive from the shore of Ullswater. You can walk down. You've got the lake for boats and swimming, and the fells for walking straight from the door. Pooley Bridge village has shops and a few pubs about half a mile away.
For a good day out, you can get the Ullswater steamer from Pooley Bridge. It goes up the lake to Glenridding. You can walk back if you want. The High Street fells are right behind you. Helvellyn is about ten miles away.
Penrith is five miles for a bigger supermarket. Keswick is about fourteen miles.
Facilities wise: it's all on one level so it's wheelchair accessible. There's a patio and garden, parking right outside, and WiFi. It's got a dishwasher and washing machine. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding is included and we can provide a cot and highchair.
