Mill Moor is a cottage on a working farm just outside Pooley Bridge. So you'll see sheep and tractors going about their business. It's quiet.
The cottage sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been converted from an old stone farm building, so there are original beams and slate floors. It's comfortable, not glossy. There's a wood-burning stove.
Ullswater is a few minutes' drive away. You can walk along it, mess about in boats, or get on one of the steamers. The fells start pretty much from the back door. For more serious walks, the High Street range is about a mile away and Helvellyn is about ten miles.
Pooley Bridge itself has shops and pubs. It's about half a mile, so you can walk it. Penrith is five miles for a bigger supermarket. Keswick is fourteen miles.
Facilities wise: there's parking, a garden with a patio and a BBQ, a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi works. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding is included.
