Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage is on Barton Hall Farm, just outside Pooley Bridge. It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear tractors sometimes. The cottage itself used to be a stable. It's one of three here, but you've got your own patio and it feels private.

It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The ceiling beams are low in places, and the stairs are the original farm cottage ones, so mind your head.

The kitchen has what you need. There's a wood burning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. WiFi works. TV. Washing machine. Bedding is included, and we can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.

You're about half a mile from the centre of Pooley Bridge. There are shops and a few pubs there that do food. The farm is down a lane, so it's quiet, but you can walk to the village in ten minutes.

Lake Ullswater is just down the road. You can walk the shore path, or go on one of the steamers from the pier. For a bigger walk, the High Street range starts close by. Helvellyn is about half an hour's drive.

Penrith is ten minutes in the car for a bigger supermarket. Keswick is about twenty-five minutes. If you want a day out, National Trust Aira Force is a popular waterfall walk nearby.

There's parking right outside the cottage. The patio has a table and a BBQ. You can store bikes.
