Gill Barn
Gill Barn is in Butterwick. It's up a quiet lane, and it's a barn conversion we finished a few years ago.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think is fair. The kitchen is good, with granite surfaces and a big table. There's oak flooring through the ground floor.
You can walk straight from the door. There are footpaths and bridleways into the fells. You don't need to drive if you want a good walk.
Ullswater is about five miles away. Haweswater is three miles. You can get straight onto High Street and Harter Fell from here.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi is on. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed, and you can bring up to two dogs.
For things to do, the National Park site is useful: Lake District National Park. For local history, National Trust Lake District has their properties. Penrith is about a fifteen minute drive for supermarkets.
