Strickland Manor
Strickland Manor is a big house in Great Strickland, a village in the Eden Valley. It’s for big groups, families or mixed groups of walkers. There are eight bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. You can have up to four dogs.
The house has been completely redone. It's a Five Star place, which means it's high spec. All the bedding and towels are included. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a dishwasher and a separate utility room with a washing machine. There's a games room, which is good for kids or for a wet afternoon.
One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. It has a wet room with grab rails, and there's level access from outside, so it works for wheelchairs or if anyone has mobility problems.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District. It's two miles to the National Park boundary. Ullswater is about six miles away. For walking, you've got the lakes and fells to the west, and the Pennines to the east. The village pub is about a hundred yards from the house. They do food. Penrith is five miles away for shops.
If you need even more space, you can book the house next door, or both next door. All together they sleep 28.
