Strickland Manor is a big country house in Great Strickland, Cumbria. It sleeps sixteen people, which is a lot. There are eight bedrooms and every single one has its own bathroom attached.
It’s been done up recently. It’s got a 5 Star rating, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable, a proper luxury property. Everything is included, like bedding and towels.
The location is good if you’re driving. You can get to the M6 motorway easily, which makes coming up from the south a lot simpler. The village itself is quiet. There’s a pub about a hundred yards away that does food. Penrith is five miles away for bigger shops.
You’re two miles from the edge of the Lake District National Park. Ullswater is six miles away. You can walk straight out from the house into the countryside, or drive a short way to get on the fells. You’re also on the right side for the Pennine Hills. There’s on-site parking.
The house has a games room, which works for kids or adults. There’s a good kitchen and a separate utility room with a washing machine. Outside there’s a garden with a patio and a BBQ.
It’s set up for groups or big families. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and it has a wet room with grab rails, so it works well for anyone with mobility issues. You can take up to four dogs.
If you need even more space, you can book the two houses next door as well. They’re called The Oaks and The Woodland. Between all three, you could fit twenty-eight people.
