Garden Cottage
Garden Cottage is in Newby, in the Eden Valley. It's a detached cottage. You can't see it from the road, you go down a private shared lane to get to it. The name's from the garden. It's fully enclosed and gets the sun in the afternoon.
It sleeps two. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up comfortably. The bed is new.
The village shop and a pub are a mile away, which is about a twenty minute walk. The pub does good food. The cottage has a woodburning stove. The WiFi is fine for browsing but not really for streaming films. There's on-site parking for one car.
You're about 15 minutes from the M6, so it's easy to get to. Penrith is 20 minutes away for supermarkets and things. Appleby is closer, that's the town with the horse fair.
You're on the edge of the Lake District, maybe 25 minutes' drive to the northern lakes like Ullswater. The Yorkshire Dales are about the same distance the other way. It's good walking country right from the door. The River Eden is nearby if you like fishing.
For places to visit, Brougham Castle is very close. Acorn Bank Garden is near Penrith. Rheged, which is a cinema and shopping place, is also on the way to Penrith.
Pets are welcome, up to two dogs. There's a stairgate, a cot, and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a barbecue.
