Beck Cottage
Beck Cottage is in Colby. It's a small village, quiet. You get the sound of the beck running past the garden. It's not loud, just a background trickle.
It's a two-bedroom cottage that sleeps four. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean, comfortable, and has everything you need, but it's not luxury. The furniture is older but solid. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
The garden is yours to use. It's not huge, but there's a patio with a table. You can sit and listen to the water.
You’re about two miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland. That's where the shops and pubs are. It's a proper market town. The pub food there is decent.
The location is the main thing. You're right in the Eden Valley. For walking or cycling, you can start from the door. The Lake District National Park is about a 30-minute drive north. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about the same drive east. So you're well placed for both.
Carlisle and Durham are under an hour's drive if you want a day out at a cathedral or a museum.
Facilities wise: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.
