Castle Green is a big Georgian house right by Appleby Castle. It's Grade II listed. That just means it's old and they can't change it much, which I think is nice.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom upstairs has a roll-top bath. There's a proper shower room downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well looked after.
Downstairs is all one space for living, dining and cooking, plus a separate sitting room if you want some quiet. The kitchen's large and has an Aga. There's a pantry and a utility room with a washing machine. The garden at the back is enclosed and big. Two sides of it are the actual castle wall.
You're about a hundred yards from the shops and pubs in Appleby. It's a proper little market town. Good for a pint or if you need milk.
For getting out, you're in the Eden Valley. The North Pennines are right there. The Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are both about a 30 minute drive. Good walking starts from the door.
Facilities: everything listed is there. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's an old house so the internal stairs are normal house stairs. There's bike storage. No pets, sorry.
