Colby Hall Cottage
Colby Hall Cottage is in Colby, near Appleby. It’s attached to our house, but you have your own entrance and your own patio garden.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The renovation was done a few years ago so everything works properly, but we kept some of the old beams and things. It’s warm and the wood burner is easy to use.
It’s quiet here. You look out over fields. Appleby-in-Westmorland is about a mile and a half away. There’s a Co-op, a few pubs that do food, and the usual shops. It’s a nice old town.
The location is good for getting to different places. You’re right between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The M6 is about ten minutes drive if you need to get on it. Hadrian’s Wall is maybe forty minutes north.
For walking, you can start from the door or drive into the fells. The nearest proper Lake District bit is probably around Ullswater, which is about half an hour’s drive. For the Yorkshire Dales, you can be in Mallerstang or around Kirkby Stephen in fifteen minutes.
Facilities: all the things you’d expect are here. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s parking right outside the door.
