Cruck End
Cruck End is in Crackenthorpe, which is just outside Appleby-in-Westmorland. It's one of two cottages next to our house. You get your own space, but we're nearby if you need anything.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not a show home. The name comes from the original cruck beams inside. They're low in a couple of places, so you need to watch your head.
Appleby is about two miles away. There's a Co-op, a few pubs, cafes, and an outdoor swimming pool. The famous horse fair happens there in June. It's busy then.
You're right between the North Pennines, the Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales. They're all about a 20 to 30 minute drive. For walks from the door, you can go up onto the fells straight from the cottage.
Penrith is ten miles east. It's got a big supermarket and the Rheged Centre. The M6 is there if you're heading north or south. Hadrian's Wall is about an hour away by car.
It's a detached cottage. There's parking right outside. You've got wifi, a washing machine, a stairgate, and a highchair. We allow one well-behaved dog.
