The Hayloft

The Hayloft is Bleatarn, near Kirkby Stephen. It's a converted hayloft on our farm. It looks out over the fields towards the Pennines.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and finished nicely. It sleeps two. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. The stairs are a fairly steep, narrow farmhouse staircase.

It's open plan downstairs. Kitchen, dining area, and sitting area all in one room. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside.

We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a highchair and a cot available if you need them.

It's quiet here. The nearest pub is about three miles away in a village. Kirkby Stephen is five miles one way for shops, and Appleby-in-Westmorland is five miles the other way. They both have the basics.

You're right in the Eden Valley. For walking, you've got the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the North Pennines AONB all within a 30 minute drive. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs nearby if you want a scenic train ride.

Ullswater is about a 25 minute drive. You can get a steamer there. The coast at Morecambe Bay is about 45 minutes away if you fancy a change.
