Smardale Cottage is in Smardale, Cumbria. It's in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, right next to the Smardale Gill Nature Reserve. The garden gate opens onto it.
It's a two bedroom cottage that sleeps four. One bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place has been done up, so it's clean and modern inside, but it's still an old cottage. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow, which is normal for round here. Just a heads up.
You get a good view of the fells from the garden, and you can see Smardale Viaduct from there too. The garden is enclosed and gets the sun. We see red squirrels in it quite often.
For facilities, it's got a wood burner, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. You can bring one dog.
The nearest shop and pub is in Kirkby Stephen, about three miles away. It's a small market town. There's a market on Mondays. For a bigger shop, Penrith or Kendal are about 45 minutes' drive.
You can walk straight from the door. The Coast to Coast path is half a mile away. You're right on the edge of the nature reserve here, so it's very quiet.
