Gelderslack Barn
Gelderslack Barn is in Nateby, which is about a mile outside Kirkby Stephen. It's a converted barn, detached. We did it up a few years ago.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped. Everything's on the ground floor except the bedroom, which is up a staircase. It's not a ladder, but it is a proper cottage staircase, so mind your head.
The pub is a few minutes' walk up the road. Kirkby Stephen is about a mile away for shops and a few more places to eat. Appleby-in-Westmorland is about a 20 minute drive if you need a bigger supermarket or the leisure centre pool.
You're right in the Eden Valley here. For walking, you can head straight out from the door. It's quiet. If you want to drive, you're roughly halfway between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Both are about a 30 minute drive depending on where you're aiming. The North Pennines are closer.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
