The Wool Loft is a one bedroom cottage on our farm in Outhgill. It's part of the old stone farm buildings, converted about fifteen years ago. It sleeps two, just the one bedroom upstairs.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. The stone floor downstairs is original, so it can feel cool. The bedroom has an en-suite shower. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, a bit steep and narrow.
You've got your own enclosed garden with a table and chairs. It looks west over our fields. We keep sheep and beef cattle here, so you'll see them about. You can park right outside.
Inside, there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding is provided. It's all open plan downstairs.
You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park here, and about a thirty minute drive from the Lake District. The Howgill Fells are on the doorstep for walking, and they're usually quieter. Kirkby Stephen is six miles away for shops and a pub. There's a pub in the village too, about five minutes by car.
For days out, you can get the train from Kirkby Stephen on the Settle to Carlisle line. Kendal is about twenty miles, which is a good start for the Lake District.
