Brow View Cottage is our place in Ravenstonedale. It's a converted stone barn next to our house, on our 20 acre farm. The views from the front are over the fields and up to the Howgill Fells.
It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, both with their own TVs. There are two bathrooms, one is a wet room. The stairs are oak and glass, they're quite open, so you need to be careful with small children.
Upstairs is all one room. Kitchen and dining at one end, living area with a wood burner at the other. It's light and you can see the fells from the windows. The wood burner is nice when it's cold. Outside is an enclosed patio with a table and a barbecue.
You can walk straight out from the door. The footpaths go right up into the Howgills. Ravenstonedale village is about a mile and a half away. It's got a good pub that does food and a 9-hole golf course.
Kirkby Stephen is the nearest proper town, about five miles. It has supermarkets, shops, cafes and a weekly market. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs through there if you fancy a trip. The station is heritage listed.
You're sort of between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes here. Sedbergh, which is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is about 15 minutes' drive. Kendal, which is the gateway to the Lake District, is about half an hour.
In terms of stuff here, there's the wood burner, BBQ, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We accept up to two dogs.
