The Larches

The Larches is in Hartley. It's a stone cottage, detached. There's a small stream that runs along the side, and you cross a little stone bridge to get to the front door. The garden's out the back, on a slope, and it's enclosed.

It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently, so it's clean and feels quite light inside despite being an old cottage.

Hartley's a quiet little spot. The village gets the Coast to Coast footpath running right through it, so you can start walking from the door. You can follow the river for a gentle stroll or head up onto the fells for something steeper.

Kirkby Stephen is the nearest proper town. It's about a fifteen minute walk, maybe twenty. There are shops and a few pubs there that do food. You've got a local pub closer, about three quarters of a mile.

Where it sits is good. You're in the Eden Valley, so you're between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Both are about a half hour drive, depending which bit you want. For the Lakes, you'd head to places like Haweswater or Ullswater. For the Dales, maybe over to Sedbergh or up into Swaledale.

In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if needed. Parking for a couple of cars on the drive. No pets, sorry.
