The Hayloft

This is The Hayloft. It's in Crosby Garrett, which is a quiet farming village in the Eden Valley. It's part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The building is a converted barn, detached. It's just for two people.

It's got a 4 Star rating. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's comfortable. There's a woodburning stove for the colder months. You get your own patio area with a table and chairs. The view is over fields.

The village itself is very quiet. There's no pub here. For that, you drive about five minutes to Kirkby Stephen. They've got shops, a few pubs and some good places to eat. It's a proper little market town.

You can walk straight from the door. There are paths across the fells and valleys. Part of the Coast to Coast path goes through here. The lanes around here are good for cycling, very quiet.

For local sights, Smardale Nature Reserve is nearby for a walk. The Settle to Carlisle railway line is close. You can get on at Kirkby Stephen. A trip to Settle takes you over the Ribblehead viaduct. It's a good day out.

Appleby-in-Westmorland and Penrith are both within about half an hour's drive. Penrith has the Rheged Centre with a cinema and shops. The Lake District towns, like Keswick and Windermere, are under an hour away.

Included: towels and bedding, WiFi, parking right outside. There's bike storage if you need it. No pets, I'm afraid.
