Bluebell Barn

Bluebell Barn sits at the end of a farm track in Newbiggin-on-Lune. It's an old stone barn we converted a few years back. There's a garden around it which is just for you.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms upstairs and the family bathroom is up there too. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's a barn so the rooms are big and the ceilings are high. The floors are tiled downstairs, which is practical.

Heating is from an air source heat pump, which works well, and there's also a wood-burning stove in the living room. We leave you some logs to get started. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a washing machine in the utility room. There's bike storage if you bring them. WiFi is there but it's rural broadband, so it's fine for browsing but not for streaming films to multiple devices.

You're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park here. The Howgill Fells are basically on the doorstep, which is good walking without the crowds. The Lake District National Park boundary is about a 30-minute drive. You can get to places like Haweswater or Ullswater in that time. Kirkby Stephen, the nearest proper town, is about four miles away. It has shops, cafes and a train station on the Settle-Carlisle line.

The local pub in Ravenstonedale, about a mile away, is very good. They do food. There's also a 9-hole golf course there if that's your thing.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. We include all bedding and towels. There's parking for two cars right outside.
