Stallion Barn
Stallion Barn is a barn we've done up on the edge of Crosby Garrett. It's detached, so no neighbours through the walls. It looks out over fields.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, both with showers. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and finished to a good standard.
You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed, which is handy for that.
It's got underfloor heating downstairs and a wood burner in the living area. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Parking is right outside.
Crosby Garrett itself is quiet. There's a small village shop. For more choice, Kirkby Stephen is about four miles away. It's got shops, a few pubs, and a co-op.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is all around. For a specific walk, Smardale Nature Reserve is close by.
The Lake District is within about 45 minutes. You can get to Windermere or Keswick in that time. Closer than that, about 20 minutes, is the Rheged Centre near Penrith. It's good for a wet day. Orton has a chocolate factory, if that's your sort of thing.
If you're interested in castles, there's Appleby, Brough, and Pendragon Castle all fairly local. The Settle to Carlisle railway is famous for its views. You can pick it up at Kirkby Stephen station.
