Blue Heron Lodge

Blue Heron Lodge is in Brough, Cumbria. It's a barn conversion we finished a while back. Detached, so no neighbours attached. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower.

The main thing is the space. It's set in big grounds. There's a decent sized private garden with a patio. Swindale Beck runs along the bottom. You can hear the water from the garden. The view from the back is across a field to Brough Castle, which is up on a hill. It's a good sight.

There's a summerhouse and a hot tub in the garden. Inside, it's been done to a high standard. Five Star rating. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. The worktops are low in the kitchen, which some people find useful. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there.

You can bring one dog. We ask that you keep it off the furniture.

Location wise, it's quiet and rural. Kirkby Stephen is about ten minutes by car. Appleby-in-Westmorland is about fifteen. Both have shops, pubs, cafes. You're sort of in the middle of three good areas. The Yorkshire Dales, the North Pennines, and the Lake District are all within a thirty minute drive for getting to a proper trailhead or a lake.

For a longer day out, you can get to Barnard Castle, High Force waterfall, or Bowes Museum in under an hour.

Useful links if you're planning: Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lake District National Park, and North Pennines AONB.
