The Waiting Rooms is in Gaisgill. It's basically on its own, next to our house. It used to be the old station. We've turned it into a bungalow, so it's all on one level once you're in. Good if you have mobility issues or just don't want stairs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and each has its own bathroom. One has a power shower over the bath, the other just a walk-in shower. It feels light in there. We did it up in that simple Danish style, so it's tidy and clean, not cluttered.
You've got your own patio and garden bit out the front. Parking right outside. There's an electric vehicle charger if you need it. Everything else you'd expect is there, like a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and a decent TV.
The location is the main thing. We're right in the middle of nowhere in the Lune Valley. The A685 runs past the village, so you can get about easily. It's between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The Howgill Fells are right on the doorstep, which are brilliant for walking and you hardly see anyone. Kirkby Stephen has the Settle to Carlisle railway line if that's your thing.
The nearest pub is about a mile and a half away in Tebay. There's a shop two miles away. For a bigger shop, you're looking at Kirkby Stephen or going into the Lakes.
One dog is welcome. Please keep it off the furniture.
