Mount Cottage

Mount Cottage is on Brockholes Farm, near Tebay. It's a converted farm building, so it’s solid and roomy. It sleeps seven.

There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and have their own en-suites, which is handy if you don't fancy stairs. The main living area is upstairs. It's open plan, with a kitchen, dining, and sitting space all in one. It’s a good space for everyone to be together.

Outside, you get your own seating area with a view of the river and the valley. There's a shared kids' play area on the farm too. You're welcome to walk on the farm land. There's fishing on the River Lune.

The location is the main thing. You're right by the M6 junction, which makes getting here easy, but you feel miles away. The Howgill Fells are all around you. It feels very open. You're sort of sat between three big areas: the Yorkshire Dales, the North Pennines, and the Lake District are all about a 30 minute drive away.

Tebay has a famous services with a good farm shop. Kirkby Stephen is a small market town about ten minutes drive. Kendal is about twenty minutes south. From there, you can get into the Lake District proper - Windermere and Ambleside are less than an hour.

As for the cottage, it's got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and well-finished. The facilities are what you'd expect: parking, wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs.
